The name "Oxalis" is inspired by the vibrant pink flower that blooms on the front lawn of Casa Velha do Palheiro every spring. This delicate flower, thriving in harmony with the estate's environment, symbolises our philosophy: respect for nature and the embrace of changing seasons. These principles are reflected in our menu, which evolves with the natural cycles of the land.

Meet the Chef

Join us every Monday from 17:30 to 18:00 for our "Meet the Chef" event, where you'll enjoy a personalised experience with Chef Gonçalo Bita Bota. The visit begins with a tour of our on-site garden, highlighting our sustainability practices and the importance of locally sourced ingredients. Chef Gonçalo will also share insights into our commitment to using national meat suppliers, ensuring the highest quality for our dishes.

Throughout the tour, Chef Gonçalo is happy to answer your culinary questions and share recipes of your favourite dishes. The experience concludes with you selecting a fresh herb from the garden, which Chef Gonçalo will incorporate into your dinner that evening. To participate in this unique experience, please book at reception.
