One year after opening its doors, the Oxalis restaurant celebrates its first anniversary with the 1st edition of the Arraial Gourmet, a unique event that combines contemporary gastronomy, Madeiran tradition, and nature, in a memorable setting: the lawn of Hotel Casa Velha do Palheiro, Relais & Châteaux, on September 12, at 7:00 p.m.

The event will feature Live Cooking, where six renowned chefs of contemporary cuisine will create and serve dishes inspired by regional traditions — reinterpreted in gourmet style. Each station will pay homage to the essence of the arraial, with its own identity and elevated creativity.

Six chefs, six visions, one garden:

• Gonçalo Bota – Resident chef at Oxalis, recommended by the Michelin Guide
• Filipe Janeiro – Gazebo Restaurant, recommended by the Michelin Guide
• César Vieira – Audax Restaurant, recommended by the Michelin Guide
• Dúlio Freitas – Adega do Pomar Restaurant | Quinta da Moscadinha
• Júlio Pereira – Kampo Group, recommended by the Michelin Guide
• Carlos Afonso – Recognized for his signature style and regular appearances on television programs on 24 Kitchen and CNN Portugal

In a setting that is close, relaxed, yet refined, each creation will be designed to surprise, inspire, and celebrate this special date. It will be a night of unique flavours, sharing, and memories, with the lawn of Hotel Casa Velha do Palheiro as a living and unforgettable backdrop.

The event is open to the public and will have a maximum capacity of 150 people, ensuring an exclusive and intimate experience.
