"Arraial Gourmet" in the gardens of Casa Velha do Palheiro, Relais & Châteaux — a celebration of flavours, tradition, and creativity surrounded by nature.

On August 29th, from 7pm, the gardens of Casa Velha do Palheiro will become the stage for an exclusive gastronomic experience, where the authenticity of Madeiran tradition meets the innovation of contemporary cuisine.

The Gourmet Arraial will feature Live Cooking moments, where tradition and regional flavours are reimagined through sophisticated contemporary culinary creations. Each station will celebrate the spirit of the arraial (traditional festival) with original, sustainable dishes full of character, providing an authentic and memorable experience.

More than just a gastronomic event, this will be an experience of sharing and discovery, embraced by the natural beauty of the venue and the appreciation of Madeira’s products, culture, and traditions.

Join an exclusive floral arrangement workshop with floral designer Joanna Whitaker in the beautiful natural surroundings of Casa Velha do Palheiro.

This immersive hands-on experience invites participants to explore the art of floral design while creating a nature-inspired table arrangement using flowers and foliage sourced from the Palheiro Nature Estate.

The workshop includes a welcome session with herbal teas, an introduction to flowers, tools, and techniques, as well as a guided walk through the gardens and trails to discover seasonal blooms and natural materials. Participants will then enjoy a live demonstration by Joanna Whitaker, followed by personal guidance while creating their own unique floral arrangements to take home.
